How did we get here?

I just want to grow pretty flowers…

I’m a Psych Nurse Practitioner by trade. I retired from the Navy in Sept 2020 and decided that with the space my husband and I bought for our forever home that I should add a space devoted to cut flowers. And then I added some more. And then I got the bright idea of selling them. For fun. I still have a day job and I love it, but my soul NEEDS to grow flowers. I spend the weekdays talking and listening to people, sometimes on the precipice of life, sometimes struggling with the loss of another. Sometimes, they are trying to heal invisible wounds from many years ago and the process to heal is long and painful.

Though, I love what I do, I also know that I must take care of myself in order to continue to help others. Flowers provide that for me.

From placing the tiniest seed onto soil, carefully monitoring the moisture content, light exposure, temperature, to feeding it those nutrient treats to develop beautiful blooms from healthy plants. Then comes the moment you walk through and feel pride as they come to their fullest potential- like watching a child grow up and accomplish their dreams, I feel the same when I see the blooms open and unfurl into whatever God wanted them to be - spiky, delicate, scented/unscented, lasting only a day, or two weeks - I am thrilled to have had them in my life.

I do not plan to build a big farm. I am not going to move again - we did that enough times over our 20-year military careers! I am just growing beauty on a small scale, so that I can continue to do God’s work with people Monday thru Friday, and still have time to produce beautiful, healthy, quality blooms for others to enjoy.

Whether it’s only a stem or two on your evening walk by, a little posey for your desk, or a big bouquet for a dinner or celebration, let me share my love of flowers with you!

Grown and picked with care.

These blooms are grown on my property, where I have pets and plan to have grandchildren running around one day, so I don’t use chemicals.

Flowers On Rosehill are grown using love and natural products, Korean Natural Farming techniques, no-dig/no-till bed preparation, and other regenerative practices. We are not OMRI certified, but we treat our crops like we could be.
